The representatives of Norwegian local government began their internship at the Municipal Office by participating in a meeting of the City Board, during which they had the opportunity to explore the organisational structure and functioning of the administration. During the meeting, Beata Klimek, Mayor of Ostrów Wielkopolski, shared her vision of the city's development. She focused on areas such as social policy, support for senior citizens, family-friendly policies and the development of sports and cultural offer.

The first day of the internship also included training to prepare for further cooperation, and the next day was devoted to urban revitalisation. The interns had a chance to see the investments implemented as part of this project. They visited, among others, Mediateka, Rowińskiego Square and open air playgrounds. The ladies also became acquainted with the functioning of the city's cultural unit, the City's 3D Museum, an investment made with EU funds.

The exchange of experience and learning about local government management methods were key elements of this international meeting.

The internship is part of the cooperation between the city of Ostrów Wielkopolski and the Association of Polish Cities, within the framework of the ‘Continuation of Bilateral Cooperation between Polish, Norwegian and Icelandic Municipalities as an Example of Establishing Lasting Relations after the conclusion of the Local Development Programme and Expanding Cooperation in the Preparation of the Next Financial Perspective' programme.
